College of Engineering PhD alumni who received their doctorate between the years of 1996 and 2011.
Award winners will have made a significant discovery or innovation in their PhD dissertation research that was translated into real-world ventures by themselves or others in a new or existing company, non-profit, organization, or other entity. The realized commercial and broader societal impact of the discovery/innovation will be important criteria. The winner should be an excellent speaker with an interest in interacting with graduate students. The award winner must be available to present a lecture and meet with U-M graduate students during the Engineering Graduate Symposium (EGS, Friday, November 11, 2016).
